When I left the confines of my insular community, I left my wardrobe - and part of my identity with it - behind. Over the years, I had to learn how to carve out my style the hard way. Through trial and error, scouring the internet, and drawing inspiration from clothing types throughout history, I learned to define (and continue to define) my unique style.

I don’t have 40 pairs of shoes in my closet. I also don’t have an unlimited clothing budget. Instead, I built myself up slowly, using versatile staples that I knew worked with the other items in my wardrobe, were durable, and weren’t tied to fads.

Creating your unique style can be an arduous and overwhelming experience. There is an exhaustive amount of information on the internet about different types and styles of clothes, as well as hundreds of different people telling how you should and should not dress. There are many different applications and expressions of menswear, and at Oster & Austere, we don’t believe that you should draw your inspiration from any place. Rather, we seek to equip you with the tools and knowledge necessary for you to carve out your own style so that you can build a wardrobe of quality menswear staples that will best serve you.
